Student Ability Profile (Prep) is the assessment diary on the Allied School Prep list on this site. It is published by Learning Support International (LSI) and is not a workbook that a child writes in: it is a structured tool that a teacher and a parent use to record where a Prep student stands, subject by subject, using a simple four-point scale. This page is written for the 2027-28 session.

Exams Book House, Shop Number 4, Al Fazal Market, Urdu Bazar, Lahore, supplies it with cash on delivery across Pakistan and delivery to the Gulf countries.

Quick facts

What is inside?

The sample page shows the structure. Each Key Learning Area is broken into a numbered list of specific, observable outcomes. Under Basic Mathematical Concepts, for example, the outcomes include writing numbers from one number to another in tens and units, writing missing numbers in a sequence, comparing objects by size or weight, recognising and describing 2-D shapes in pictures and in simple patterns, counting backwards from 10, and estimating and measuring with a hand span. Under Urdu Language and Literacy, the outcomes are about word recognition and pronunciation.

Every outcome is scored on the same four-point scale:

  1. All of the time
  2. Most of the time
  3. Some of the time
  4. Not yet

Each section also has a running total and an obtained score, so progress across the term is a number and not a guess.

Why a profile and not only a report card?

A report card gives a grade at the end of the term. This profile tells the teacher and the parent, outcome by outcome, exactly which skill still needs work while there is still time in the session to work on it. That is when the information is useful.

How teachers and parents can use it

Questions to ask at a parent meeting

  1. Which outcomes is my child showing "all of the time"?
  2. Which one or two would you like us to practise at home?
  3. How will we see progress by the next meeting?
  4. Are there outcomes that are not yet expected at this age?

How to help at home

Who is it for?

Prep students on the Allied School list, and the teachers and parents who track their progress. Other Student Ability Profile books exist for other classes; this page is only about the Prep one.

Is it right for Allied School Prep and session 2027-28?

On this site it is shown under Allied School Prep. If your school's 2027-28 list names Student Ability Profile (Prep), this is the one. Send us your list on WhatsApp and we will tell you what we can get for you.

How to read the scores

The four-point scale is not a grade. A mark of "Not yet" does not mean failure. It means the skill has not appeared consistently, and the teacher and parent now know where to help.

Talking to your child about it

Children do not need to see the profile. Say simple things: "Your teacher says you are great at counting. Let's practise writing numbers together." That turns the assessment into encouragement, not pressure.

Keep it private and safe

The profile contains information about your child's learning. Keep it in a safe place and share it only with the school or people you trust.
