Privacy Policy
How Exams Book House handles the information you give us on this website.
Who we are
This website belongs to Exams Book House, Shop No. 4, Al Fazal Market, Urdu Bazar, Lahore 54000, Pakistan. You can reach us on WhatsApp or by phone on 0317 4846676.
What we collect
- Your cart. The books you add to your cart are stored in your own browser (local storage). Nothing is charged online — the cart only helps you send us your list.
- The WhatsApp enquiry form. When you tap a WhatsApp button we ask for your name, your address and, optionally, your phone number. They are put into the WhatsApp message you send us, and a copy is saved on our server so we can reply to your enquiry. We also keep the book you asked about.
- Visit and cart activity. When you add a book to your cart or send an enquiry we save the time, the book, the page you were on, where you came from, whether you used a phone or a computer, a random anonymous visitor code stored in your browser, and your IP address.
Estimated location
We estimate your city from your IP address using a third-party location service; only the IP address is sent. The estimate can be wrong (mobile data and VPNs often show a different city).
“Recent order” notice for other visitors
If you send an order on WhatsApp, your first name and the city we estimate from your IP address may appear in a “recent order” notice for other visitors; you can opt out with the checkbox in the form. We never show your address, phone number, surname, IP address or visitor code to anyone.
Why we use it
To answer your enquiry, to understand which books people want so that we can stock them, and to keep this website secure (for example to stop automated abuse).
How long we keep it
We keep activity records so that we can understand demand over time. Ask us on WhatsApp or by phone and we will delete the records that belong to you.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your information. WhatsApp (Meta) receives the message you choose to send us, under its own privacy policy. The location service mentioned above receives your IP address only.
Cookies
This website does not use advertising or analytics cookies. Your cart, your saved name/address and an anonymous visitor code are kept in your browser’s local storage, and you can clear them at any time from your browser settings.
Your choices
You can leave the phone number empty, tick “Don’t show my first name on the website”, or simply message us on WhatsApp without using the form’s optional fields. To ask for your information to be corrected or deleted, contact us using the details above.
