What is this book?
The Class 7 book uses the same three-part structure as the Class 6 book: physical, human and environmental geography. It moves from plains and rivers, through water, farming, settlements and the minerals that power the modern world, to climate change.
With about 100 pages of chapters and a glossary and maps at the back, it is a compact book that a twelve-year-old can study chapter by chapter. A good habit is to read one chapter, mark three key words, and then explain the chapter aloud to a parent using the map.

How the six chapters fit together
- Plains and rivers describe landforms and how people use them.
- Water sources and management explain where fresh water comes from and why it must be shared and saved.
- Agriculture links land, water and food.
- Settlements and land use show how people choose where to live.
- Minerals and power cover the resources that run industry.
- Climate change ties the whole book together by asking how human life affects the planet.
Study tips with the map
Use the outline map of Pakistan for the rivers and plains, and the world outline map for minerals and power. Colouring the main rivers, canals and farming regions makes the chapters easier to remember than reading alone.
