The six parts in short

Part 1 – Ourselves (pages 2–25). The human body, the five senses and healthy habits. This is the first part and the shortest of the main sections, because Class 1 children start with themselves.

Part 2 – Living Things (pages 26–54). Plants (13 pages) and animals and how they live (13 pages). Together they fill almost a third of the book.

Part 3 – Materials and Matter (pages 55–64). A single unit on materials and objects: what things are made of and what they are used for.

Part 4 – Forces, Energy, and Machines (pages 65–85). Movement, sounds and light and shadow, with a Fun Page at the end. This is the first physics part of the series.

Parts 5 and 6 – Earth, weather and sky (pages 86–104). The weather and the Earth, Sun, Moon and stars. The book ends with a glossary on page 104.
