Quick facts

What is this book?

In Class 3 the science book gets more serious: children learn about the life cycle, electricity, simple machines and the Solar System. New Oxford Primary Science 3 shares the six-part structure of the whole series, with parts for Ourselves, Living Things, Materials and Matter, Forces, Energy and Machines, The Earth and the Atmosphere and The Sky and Space.

Part 1 has two units (the human body with 10 pages and health and safety with 9). Part 2 moves to the living world: living on Earth, the life cycles of animals and the life cycle of a plant. Part 3 is a single unit on materials. Part 4 is the largest part with four units (force, electricity, simple machines, sound and light). Parts 5 and 6 end the year with the Earth and the Solar System.

There are Fun Pages after each part, and the book has a glossary on page 104.
