What is this book?

For a seven-year-old, Islamiat is learned by listening, saying and doing. This book follows that idea: it starts with reading and learning short parts of the Quran by heart, then explains what a Muslim believes and does, tells the story of the Prophet's life and character, and ends with the good manners of daily life and the prophets.

The contents page says it is the March Edition 2022 and that the contents and instructional design come from the EYE Academic Department of The Smart School. It was printed by Albakio International.

What the five chapters teach

1. The Quran and the hadith. Reading with understanding, learning two short surahs (Al-Falaq and An-Nas) by heart, a hadith and short oral supplications.
2. Belief and worship. The heavenly books and angels, belief in the Hereafter, fasting, and the two Eids and Islamic festivals.
3. The Prophet's life. Love and obedience towards the Prophet ﷺ and his beautiful character.
4. Manners. Islamic manners of life, respect for elders and kindness to animals.
5. Sources of guidance. The Prophets, peace be upon them.

Helping your child learn Islamiat

Short, regular and kind sessions work best. Say "Bismillah" together, read a small part aloud, repeat a line at a time for memorisation, and link each lesson to a daily action such as greeting elders or being kind to a pet. Keep each session under fifteen minutes, and if your child asks a question you cannot answer, ask an elder or the teacher together.

Why this book?

• A clear five-chapter plan from the Quran to manners.
• Short surahs and supplications for memorisation.
• Lessons link belief to everyday behaviour.

Who is it for, and when is it used?

It is for Class 2 children at The Smart School, about seven years old. It is used in the weekly Islamiat lesson during the session, and parents often help with memorisation at home in the evening.

How to help at home

• Memorise a line of the surah each day and repeat it before sleep.
• Say the supplications at the right time of day.
• Talk about the story of the Prophet's kindness at bedtime.
• Practise manners: greeting, thanking and respecting elders.
• Be kind to a pet or a bird together, linking to the lesson on animals.
