What is this book?
Class 5 social studies is the year where a child's view widens from the neighbourhood to the whole world. We Learn Social Studies 5 covers the land (physical regions, maps and globes, climate), history (ancient civilisations, great leaders, explorers), culture and communication (Pakistani culture, sources of information), state and governance (citizenship, governance) and the economy (trade, money and banking).
The book is compact. Twelve units run from page 1 to page 83 for the unit starts, so most units are 4 to 13 pages long. That suits a Class 5 child who needs short reading with clear headings, and it is easy for a parent to follow.
The cover shows a green valley and a river among mountains, a picture that fits the first section on physical regions.

The five sections
Geography (units 1 to 3, pages 1–33). The longest section. Units 1 to 3 cover physical regions, reading maps and globes and how climate shapes the lives of people. A child who understands this section finds the rest easier.
History (units 4 to 6, pages 34–47). Three short units of 4 to 6 pages each: ancient civilisations, great leaders and explorers. They give an overview, not a deep course.
Culture and communication (units 7 and 8, pages 48–57). Pakistani culture and the sources of information (books, newspapers, radio, television and the internet).
State and governance (units 9 and 10, pages 58–74). Citizenship and governance, which teach rights, duties and how a country is run.
The economy (units 11 and 12, pages 75 onwards). Trade, then money and banking, which ends the book from page 83.
