What is this book?
Book 2 is where the course turns from number work to algebra, geometry and data. It begins with Cartesian coordinates, functions and linear graphs, solves simultaneous equations by graphs and by algebra, and handles linear inequalities. Then it expands and factorises quadratic expressions, studies number patterns, and gives a whole chapter to financial transactions with examples from Pakistan: General Sales Tax, Zakat, ushr and income tax, inheritance and partnership.
The second half covers proportion, congruence and similarity, Pythagoras' theorem, trigonometric ratios, volume and surface area of prisms and cylinders, sets and probability, and histograms. It ends with Answer Keys on page 407.

Maths with a Pakistani context
Chapter 6 uses examples from daily life in Pakistan: sales tax, commission, insurance, hire purchase, Zakat, ushr, income tax, inheritance and partnership. That makes percentages and ratios feel real, and many students find this the most interesting chapter of the book.
A note on the level
This is an O Level-style book, so it asks for a lot of practice. Work through the lessons in order, do the examples before the exercises, and use the Summary at the end of each chapter for revision. Check your answers in the Answer Keys and correct mistakes the same day.
Think! 1 and Think! 2
Book 1, for Class 6, covers primes, fractions, decimals, integers, algebra basics, percentage, ratio, geometry and statistics. Book 2 builds on all of that. Both are on this site.
Why this book?
- All 13 chapters with every lesson and page number.
- Chapter 6 uses Pakistani examples: sales tax, Zakat, ushr and inheritance.
- Answer Keys at the end for checking work.
Who is it for, and when is it used?
It is for Class 7 children on a Cambridge route, about twelve years old. It is the main maths textbook of the year and is used for classwork and homework.
How to help at home
- Plot a few straight lines on graph paper and find where two of them meet.
- Practise expansion and factorisation daily on a few short questions.
- Use a family shopping bill to talk about sales tax and discounts.
- Measure a ladder and a wall and check Pythagoras' theorem.
- Make a histogram of the heights or ages of the family.
