The book is printed over about 117 pages. The last chapter, Time, ends with the Islamic calendar, which is a practical skill that children in Pakistan use in daily life.

Why this book?
- Writing practice for every chapter of the Class 1 course.
- Short chapters make it easy for a parent to check answers.
- The Islamic calendar page gives a practical close to the year.
Who is it for, and when is it used?
It is for Class 1 children at Army Public Schools, about six years old. A good rhythm is to learn the topic in class and then do the matching workbook pages in the evening. It is used at school and at home, and works best with the Students' Course Book beside it.
How to help at home
- Sit with your child for the first page of each chapter, then let them try the rest alone.
- Use a soft pencil and a good eraser; mistakes are part of practice.
- Check the answers together and ask "how did you work that out?"
- Practise the tables of 2, 5 and 10 by clapping and counting aloud.
- Look at the real calendar at home when you reach the Islamic calendar page.
